It was an honor when you elected me to represent you on council 3½ years ago, as your Tukwila City Councilmember. I’m excited to continue working for you to keep our community safe, prosperous, and accountable.

As a father, husband, union member, and longtime neighbor, I know the challenges our families face. I’m committed to safeguarding our tax dollars, supporting our police and public safety, and ensuring that our government is open and accountable to you, the people it serves.

Together, we can build a Tukwila where every resident feels heard, valued, and empowered. My life has been dedicated to service, from restoring power for neighborhoods like ours, to volunteering my time, it has always been about you.

I ask that you re-elect me to council for position 3, and allow me to continue to represent you, and make Tukwila the best city we all know it can be.

Tosh

Tosh is a proud husband, father, and long-time Tukwila neighbor who proudly calls this vibrant, diverse city home.

As Tukwila Council President, Tosh works to guide policy discussions and build consensus across diverse perspectives. He also represents Tukwila on the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Governance Board, contributing to broader decisions that affect communities across the region.
Prior to his election to the City Council, Tosh served as Chair of Tukwila’s Community Oriented Policing Citizens Advisory Board and Chair of the City’s Civil Service Commission.

A tradesman and advocate for working families, Tosh has been a proud union member for over 20 years. He began his career as a Teamster at age 17 and today serves the greater Seattle area as a journeyman lineman with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He also brings the perspective of a small business, he understands that for the success of our city, there must be a balance in raising taxes and reducing costs through efficiencies.

Tosh grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Decatur High School (Go Gators!). Determined to advance his education while working full-time, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Central Washington University by attending night school—an experience that shaped his appreciation for persistence and opportunity. Later he was fortunate to be accepted into an apprenticeship, which ultimately led him into a career that will support his family and allow him to serve others.

When he’s not working or volunteering, Tosh enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife, like many in his family, an immigrant to the U.S., their two kids, grandma and their little dog, Heidi. He’s passionate about encouraging young people to explore apprenticeships, learning new languages and cultures, and finding ways of serving others in the community.

Tosh’s Priorities

  • Focused Leadership. Common-Sense Values. A Safer, More Accountable Tukwila.

As your Councilmember, Tosh Sharp brings a grounded, practical approach to leadership. His priorities reflect the values of Tukwila families: safe neighborhoods, fiscal responsibility, and a government that works for the people.

  • Safeguarding Tax Dollars

Tosh believes every tax dollar should be spent wisely and with clear purpose. He supports making the best use of every dollar while ensuring essential services are funded efficiently. As a small business owner and working tradesman, he knows the importance of living within a budget—and expects the same from our government.

  • Support for Law Enforcement and Public Safety

Tosh supports responsible increases in public safety staffing to ensure fast response times and community trust. His experience on the Community Oriented Policing Advisory Board guides his approach: safety through both accountability and investment in personnel.

  • Transparency and Accountability

Tosh is committed to honest, transparent government. He supports accessibility, open communication with residents, and clear accountability for how decisions are made and funds are spent. His goal is to strengthen public trust by making city government more accessible and responsive to the people it serves.
